One of Norways biggest festivals, Norwegian Wood, gives promising artists & bands every year an opportunity to play at their Underwood stage. This year 383 bands & artists entered this competition, and out of these 383 only 20 was picked out so that the public can vote for a winner. Your Headlights Are On is one of the lucky twenty, and they need YOUR help getting this fantastic opportunity! Vote here!

Det unge og fremadstormende Trondheims-bandet Your Headlights Are On har blitt trukket frem av mange som et av bandene man virkelig bør se opp for i 2011, og allerede i fjor høst ble de sluppet i den aller første bolken med artister som er klare for årets by:Larm. (Under “Ni band som vi tror kommer til å gjøre seg bemerket på by:Larm 2011 og i fremtiden”). Den 18. mars slipper de Your Headlights Are On endelig sitt etterlengtede selvtitulerte debutalbum.

Your Headlights Are On består av fem unge og særdeles talentfulle skaptrøndere; Ingrid Helene Håvik (vokal), Lars Ove Fossheim (gitar), Hans Hulbækmo (trommer/perkusjon), Heiða Karine Jóhannesdóttir Mobeck (tuba) og Anja Lauvdal (wurlitzer & synth). Bandet har eksistert siden våren 2008, da de spilte deres første konsert på Teip-festivalen i Trondheim. Siden den tid har de vært på tre små turneer rundt om i Norge. I januar 2010 ble Your Headlights Are On valgt ut til å være med på Trondheim Calling (ei samleplate for band i Trondheim), og på samme tid deltok de i P3s Zoom Urørt-finale. I fjor sommer spilte de på en haug festivaler, blant andre Norwegian Wood, Jorddunst, Volumfestivalen, Månefestivalen, Øya og Pstereo, og i år var bandet nylig nominert til Ut-Awards for “Mest lovende band”, samme helg som de opptrådte som headliner til den nystartede musikkfestivalen Trondheim Calling. Your Headlights Are On gjorde nylig to konserter under by:Larm i Oslo, begge til strålende kritikker.

Your Headlights Are On spiller på Blæst i Trondheim den 26. mars, Namsos Rock City den 4. april, på Blå i Oslo den 5. april, og på Vega i Ålesund den 9. april.
Flere datoer offentliggjøres innen kort tid.

Jack Dalton’s highly anticipated debut “Never mute noise, just turn down the sleep” is finally set to attack your sense of music, by exploring a variety of musical landscapes. The album is truly a mix of many genres and strongly manifested within progressive hardcore with melodic energy. The bands debut is an “instant slowburner” that captures the desperate angst between the restlessness of youth and musical manhood.

The album contains contemporary classics, such as “Manhatten?”, “Camuflage” and “Desperation Prevails” to trackdrop the tip of the iceberg. There are many things that can be claimed, when trying to explain the energy and dynamics of rock groups within the hardcore genre. “Never mute noise, just turn down the sleep” guides you through melodies that keep you tripping through the soundtrack of a band with temporary glimpse of hope. It progresses with tension and release towards a state of mind that many will be able to justify.

By now, you know that this album lies in the mist of many progressive genres. Still, it mirrors the best qualities of rock, hardcore, prog, indie and fuzzpop. As the winner of Norwegian band contest “Zoom 2010″, Jack Dalton is hailed as the best new live act in a mountainous country faaar north. With hints towards early “The Mars Drive-In “…trail of Dead”, “Motorpsycho” “Pavement” and “Mew”, “Never mute noise, just turn down the sleep” is explosive ammunitions going back to the future and beyond.
